Mutual Fund Calculator

A general mutual fund calculator projects growth for either a SIP or a lumpsum investment across fund categories (large/mid/small cap, index, hybrid), using preset historical-average return rates per category as a starting assumption.

Formula

SIP mode uses the standard SIP future-value formula; lumpsum mode uses P × (1 + r)^n — the same math as the dedicated SIP and Lumpsum calculators, with category-specific rate presets.

Worked example

Input: ₹15,000/month SIP into a large-cap fund preset for 10 years

Result: Projected corpus based on that category's preset historical average return

Frequently asked

Are the preset rates guaranteed for my fund?

No — they're indicative historical averages for the category, not a specific scheme's guaranteed return. Actual fund performance varies by scheme and market conditions.

Should I pick SIP or lumpsum mode?

SIP mode suits monthly savers investing over time; lumpsum mode suits a one-time investment such as a bonus or maturity payout — try the same fund category in both to compare.

Mutual Fund Returns Calculator: how it works

A mutual fund calculator projects the value of a fund investment made either as a one-time lumpsum or as monthly SIP instalments.

Formula

Lumpsum uses FV = P × (1 + r)^n; SIP uses the monthly-instalment future-value formula.
